“King Buddha – We Want World Peace” Title Song Launched in Hyderabad by Sri Lankan Minister Dr. Sunil Senevi
Hyderabad’s ITC Kakatiya recently hosted a grand event for the official title song launch of the highly anticipated international film, “King Buddha – We Want World Peace.” The song was unveiled by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Buddhism Religious Affairs, Dr. Sunil Senevi, marking a significant milestone for this monumental cinematic project.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Dr. Sunil Senevi lauded director Satya Reddy’s noble vision of using cinema as a medium to promote global harmony. Pointing to the ongoing global conflicts, such as the tensions between Iran and Israel, and Ukraine and Russia, the minister emphasized the urgent need for world peace. Recalling the tragic atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he stressed that humanity must embrace peace to avoid another devastating global war, adding that the core teachings of Buddhism continue to be a guiding light for worldwide unity.
Dr. Senevi expressed immense happiness over the massive scale of the film. Initiated in the United States, “King Buddha” is being shot across a multitude of Buddhist countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia. Assuring full support from the Sri Lankan government for upcoming shooting schedules, he confidently stated that this project will stand as a unique masterpiece in the history of world cinema. The minister also revealed that he was highly impressed after watching select portions of the film recently shot in Hollywood.
Addressing the gathering, director Satya Reddy shared his emotional connection to the project. With a successful 30-year career in the film industry, he described bringing the life and message of Gautama Buddha to a global audience as his ultimate dream come true. He thrilled the audience by announcing that “King Buddha” is slated for a massive worldwide theatrical release in over 100 languages in the year 2027, utilizing unprecedented, cutting-edge technology to offer viewers a true visual spectacle.
The film’s production is moving at a brisk pace. Currently, the team is filming crucial sequences depicting the birth, early childhood, and education of Gautama Buddha in the serene landscapes of Nepal, including the majestic Himalayas, Lumbini, and Kathmandu. The grand launch event concluded on a warm note, with the “King Buddha” team honoring Minister Dr. Sunil Senevi with traditional shawls and floral garlands.
